E. D. Bremner

Humorous teaching tales, from the 1980s, motivated by his work with 11-15s who could not or 'would not' attend mainstream school.

A bold, frequently funny look at one aspect of 'alternative education' in the 1980's.

E. D. Bremner offers us a uniquely honest insight into the triumphs, trials and tribulations encountered whilst teaching 11 - 15s within their homes and within an inner-city specialist education centre. Catering for a diverse range of social, emotional, behavioural and physical health needs; including teenage mums and children for whom English was initially a challenge, Kettle Street Centre provided a positive 'stepping-stone' towards achievement.

Names, places and identifying details have been changed to protect the privacy of individuals.

Proceeds from the first sixty sales of this book were donated to the 'Cure Parkinson's Trust'. The illustrator of this book has Parkinson's Disease.

E. D. Bremner spent many years working within a specialist inner-city education centre, catering for 11 - 15s with a range of complex physical and emotional needs.  Whilst all names and places within Kettle Street Kids are purely fictitious, the book cannot help but be influenced by his teaching experience.

Hobbies include: poetry, travel and membership of a local walking group where members don't always stick to local walks. They have been known to traverse across parts of Spain together!

We are happy to include the following information provided to us by: The Cure Parkinson's Trust

“Since its inception in 2005, The Cure Parkinson's Trust (CPT) has challenged the view that there is no cure for Parkinson's (PD). Our mission is to find disease-modifying treatments which slow, stop or even reverse Parkinson's.
