Ted Roche

Keen observer of human behaviour...

Humorous poems and written sketches with a generous sprinkling of quiet reflection

Utilizing his unique skills of observation, Ted Roche records the response of various individuals as they attempt to come to terms with a multitude of new, often confusing, rules and experiences during the Covid 19 Pandemic.

Created between March and August 2020, Somefink in Particular offers readers humour in the midst of troubled times, carefully intertwined with quiet contemplation.

An entertaining set of adult plays with a distinct difference – the characters are all minibeasts, inhabiting a tiny village, created from and set amidst tree stumps, weeds, mud, twigs and rubbish, beside a London canal.

Discover the chaos Mayor Slug causes when he refuses to listen to the rest of the council. Empathise with poor Lucy Ladybird as she struggles to cope with a demanding home life and a horrible boss.

Complete with vibrant black and white illustrations, Bugs by the Canal is likely to be a fun project for many drama groups to tackle. Especially those who enjoy an interesting challenge!

Book sales used to raise money for Motor Neuron Disease, in memory of a good friend.

Ted Roche first became interested in poetry and plays, some years ago, while he was a student at the Central School of Speech and Drama. Poetry has remained a firm part of his busy life, throughout the years.

In addition to several hobbies and interests he still finds time to lead a small poetry group in Deal, Kent. Members are encouraged to read and discuss both old and new poetry, plus share their own creations.

Proceeds from each book are given to a range of charities, including those supporting Motor Neuron Disease and Parkinson's Disease.
